CasRealestate’s Fitzroy North team are spoiled for choice when it comes to lunchtime options, and we like to mix it up, but like an old comfy pair of jeans, The Tin Pot Cafe always feels right…
The laid-back atmosphere and the simple yet welcoming decor have remained the same for eons, and the clientele represent a varied set. A writer in a knitted cardy sits alone in front of her laptop, pouring Orange Pekoe from a pot hoping it will get her creative juices flowing. A small group of local suits drink a quick round of Latte’s while arguing about the pros and cons of Negative Gearing and a weary-eyed student looking couple sooth their hangover with Eggs Florentine and a Bloody Mary.
The staff are chilled-out, efficient and they know the menu well, on my most recent visit I had the Tinpot Beef, Bacon and Beetroot Burger recommended by the server – it was exactly as described and utterly delicious!
What we like about this place is the variety, there’s something for everyone. Pasta and risottos, lamb and steaks, paninis, focaccias, burgers and salads, to name a few. There is also a good range of seating options, a quiet coffee on the couch, a lunch meeting at a table for two or the extra large group dining table which can accommodate our entire team.
Open seven days for breakfast, lunch and dinner (no dinner on Sunday); we highly recommend this trusty favourite. Perhaps we’ll see you there on our next visit.
